Snorkelling

Snorkel the coral and tropical fish in the safe waters of Ekas Bay. We’ve never seen a shark in 17 years at Planet!

The Ekas Coral Garden is a 2-3 m deep lush natural coral reef with hard and soft corals over 2 km2. Cabbage, Branching, Elephant Ears, Brain and 400-year-old Table corals are common. This is a fabulous and safe/easy site which is perfect for snorkelling. Our surf boat takes you out and the whole trip only lasts about an hour.

Snorkelling from our beach is also great fun, along the back of the fringing reef where you’ll find coral outcrops and reef fish embedded in the white sands backdrop.

Heaven on the Planet is famous for its environmental projects, from trees to waste management. In Ekas Bay, Heaven on the Planet with the Wildlife Conservation Society built 22 artificial reefs in Ekas Bay as habitat for fish and lobster. Guests can snorkel and watch the eco-system evolve or help by donating for more reefs. You can even arrange to fund and build a small reef while at Planet. A stone statue of the Goddess Mandalika keeps watch on the seabed. If you’re lucky, you might come across her.
